A forever scroll (or ever scroll) is a JavaScript utility that uses ajax to retrieve data to create in infinite scrolling effect.  When the user scrolls to the end of the data, an AJAX request is sent to the server to fetch more data.  That request returns the data to the JavaScript, which in turn adds the data to the end for the document.  The user then has more information to read. When the user scrolls to the end of the appended data, the Javascript does another AJAX request to fetch more data.  This process can repeated indefinitely, but there is usually a hard limit to the amount of data a user can fetch.

Popular websites like Twitter and Facebook use Forever Scrolling to fetch past tweets and wall posts.
